ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers-Anderson, SC Chapter)-4th Saturday of every month

Speaker, Denice Weimer, Editor of Smitten Books and an Author. She will talk about the basics of story structure--openings, hooks, pacing, and four-act structure.
The meeting is free and visitors are welcome. The first half is speakers and the last half is a critique.
Visitors, as well as members, are invited to bring manuscripts of up to 1,000 words for a free critique at this meeting. Submissions must follow the criteria below:
1) Must be fiction (sorry, no non-fiction, poems, or memoirs). The fiction must be clean, if not inspirational.
2) Any genre of fiction for any age, including short stories, as long as it meets the above, will be acceptable.
3) Come and register early. Manuscripts must follow the submission guidelines on the chapter blog. Here are the basics: Bring up to 1200 words, 1-inch margins, double-spaced, numbered lines (learn how on the blog guidelines), Times New Roman 12 font, header to include your title, genre, your name, email. Pages stapled together, printed on one side only. Please bring 6 copies. Everyone is welcome to offer feedback. You’ll learn a lot to sharpen your writing skills visiting these sessions, whether you bring a manuscript (ms) or not.
Park on the side of the church with the handicap ramp. Come in the double glass doors and take the elevator to the 2nd floor. Go left down the hall to a classroom.
